Juki 2010 problem

I am having the thread wind around the needle as I FMQ. Have a topstitch needle, Superior 100/16 in, had been using the Singer 100/16. Did not have this problem before. Now don't know what is happening. Have rethreaded, changed needles, slowed down and sped up FMQ and have played with tension. Has anyone had this happen to them? This also has been happening doing straight line FMQ.
Feed dogs are down stitch length is at 0 and presser foot tension is set at the top per manual. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Does this only happen when you are doing FMQ with the feed dogs down? If you haven't already, put your feed dogs back up, switch to a regular foot and try some straight stitching.

No problem when straight stitching with regular foot. This problem just started a few days ago. Pryor to that no trouble. Could be me, but if it is don't know what I am doing differently.

Have you tried changing needle size?

Is your thread curled coming off the spool?

Some instructions tell you to lower thread tension, no foot tension, and with the hopper foot releasing all tension on every lift, thread coming off curled could wind around.

Do you have the needle in the correct way?
Did you rotate the thread so it comes off curly?
Did you miss a guide when threading?
That's all I can think about.

I have this machine but I have never had this happen. Is your thread thru all the guides?

I free motion with feed dogs down but never change stitch length as with the feed dogs down it dose not matter what you stitch length is as you control that with the moving of the quilt.
