I am really glad it wasn't anything serious. Thanks so much for sharing your experience as I am sure something like this will happen to many of us sometime!!

Shelbie, I'm so glad that was the problem and that I could share my "learning moment" with you. Made me feel a little better about my "duh" moment and wasted trip.

You saved me an 1 1/2 trip to Brampton to the Babylock dealership (they also repair other brands and have a good reputation for fixing problem machines). I really really appreciate all of the answers I've received today and although I've gotten no sewing done, I have learned a lot. I didn't even know I had a fuse back there. I wonder why some of these things are not in the owner's manuel? Pamar's tip about the bobbin winding position should also be in there. I'm sure this has caused grief for more than one owner. Now I can get back to stitching. Thanks again.

I also had that happen to me once. For some unknown reason I happened to think of it, I guess because it happened just after I filled bobbins.
I am glad you with help found the problem. I didn't even think of it.

I love a happy ending.

This happened with my Brother 1500. I didn't think about it until it was posted. I remember I just wanted to cry when the machine wouldn't sew and it was a new machine. So glad it was a simple solution.
