A sturdier table may be the fix. I also use the foam kneeling pads sold for gardening under my portable machines. I believe you can get these at a dollar store, too.

I always set my sewing machine on a piece of a carpet sample and is a good way to store your pins on the edges of the carpet

Some great ideas, the sturdier table is the answer.

I think you need a good ole' sturdy table. I have found it difficult to sew fast on those new white tables. Even though they are very heavy, give me one of those brown pressed board tables!!
|
you need a Sturdier table, then use anything foamy, rubbery etc for a mat. Underlay for rugs, rubbery drawer liners, foam yoga/exercise mat, foam alphabet floor mats for kids...

I think I have to agree with the table. Something more sturdy would work.

I am using a very heavy old folding banquet table....
I can not go out and buy a new one (living on a fixed income) .....so I guess I will just try some different things under the machine and see what works....the answer is not always buy new....but perhaps fix the old. |

A studier table will take care of the problem.

My heavy Babylock does that on high speeds if I have it on a lighter-weight table. It's fine on my "desk" - hubby modified an old office desk and my machine sits down in it like those expensive tables.
My serger does the same thing if it's on a lighter-weight table. |
