When I use it where I have to fold the fabric twice, I am just really careful with the folding. I even measure to make sure the two folds are the same distance apart across the length and I use one of the black lines on the shape cut ruler to make sure it's perfectly perpendicular to the cut lines.

I just bought one and after cutting out for my project began looking for other things to cut. I love it!
