It's a lovely quilt, especially for a first quilt, and it looks like you used jeans fabric. It's much harder to match up all the seams with the heavier fabrics, so you did great!

I should have squared up my blocks and I think my corners would have matched.
If your backing is the same size as your top, do NOT hand baste from the back side...can you say waves?
Stitching in the ditch is harder than you think in the beginning but it does get easier.
When stitching in the ditch white thread isn't the best choice.
Plush fleece wasn't so bad even though it stretches both ways.
The longer nap side of the plush fleece is the wrong side. (I didn't realize that until I had the quilt basted 2/3 of the way.)
I do NOT like hand sewing the binding onto the back, it takes forever.

Even though my quilt isn't perfect, it is perfect for what our family will be using it for.

Re the stitching the binding to the back? Are your making your stitches too small? Bear in mind the binding has been machine stitched to the front, so it's not really going anywhere. Easy little slip stitches, doubled every now and then go pretty quickly if you're not being too tiny or too precise. Should be about a couple evenings in front of the tv to get done.

Well, it looks great. Isn't it fun to learn and still have a great outcome? Just wait til the next one, they will get better and better. :)

Looks beautiful to me. Love the different shades of blue - Don't forget to put a label on it - with the date you completed it.

Great idea about the label. I hadn't thought of that. Now to figure out where to get one and where to put it on my quilt.
