Thanks for all your votes! Mr friend, Linda, chose #2, which is the tan/creme color. (To be honest, that is what she told me when she bought the fabric. I gave her a choice just because I sort of preferred #1. But it is her quilt.)

I prefer the second one..it makes the green squares pop more than the one with the green border does..the green border makes it look more solid and the off white allows the green blocks to float and pop with a burst of color
