When I get a quilt back from the LAQ my favorite thing to do is wash it and watch it shrivel up. I love using the cotton batting and getting the old fashioned look of a wrinkled up quilt.
Just wondering if I'm nuts! Carrie |
no, you're not nuts. According to my dh, we're all nuts. Cutting 1 big piece of fabric into small pieces, then sewing them back together.LOL
|
That's exactly what my hubby said when I first got into quilting. He knows better now. LOL
I like to do the same thing with my quilts. I like them washed! Linda |
My Hubby said the same thing...
How can you cut up this nice fabric.... Until he saw it put together with other nice fabric and then he said, "Oh, I get it" Now he says, I can't believe this goes with that! And he is color blind! Kirsten |
Yeah, I guess it does sound a little silly to cut it up and sew it back together, but oh what beautiful quilts come from those little pieces of fabrics!
I like the 'shrink' look too! |
A friend's husband says that too.... "why cut up perfectly good material and sew it back together".
She replies "why do you cut up pieces of wood and put them back together". |
I just love the look of the rag quit I made...it looks so warm and comfy and cozy after a good wash (have yet to finish a full-size but getting there)
|
No I do the same thing I just love that look.
