Thanks for the support and ideas everyone!!
Here are my fabrics. Bright and bold just like the grandkids. :D I just don't want to make it too busy with these "loud" fabrics. Here are all the ones I'm working with. Here's my problem.......I don't have the pattern. DUH! One of the fabric's (they are a grouping) is a rather large print so I feel it needs to be a large block. I could use the same pattern I did with my daughter's green quilt but I wanted to do a different one. And for sure a young look. Am I the only person that knows they want to make a quilt, has the fabric, and can't decide on a pattern. I feel like a dope! :-) I too have done that, found some fabric but no pattern!! ha ha think it is a common occurance with quilters |
No you are not the only person. Far from it. Especially with large prints I am always looking for inspiration and ideas that will incorperate the print yet not chop it up so much that the large print is totally lost. How about enlarging a star block (maybe to 15-24" or so) and using the big print as a center.

Go figure and they are of adult age. Like DH says better that they ask for quilts then that you only make quilts for the cat because no one likes them. It is kind of funny though. ~smile~ |
