This is the go to place for anything quilts or just plain nice helpfull folks. Sew much better than any mag. out there in print.

I agree. I used to get all the mags but not anymore--too expensive and just repeats or so far out I would never do them.

I have let 3 quilt magazine subscriptions go because I would get so excited when they would come, and then there would be nothing of interest in them for me. Maybe I have become "jaded"...but like you, I LOVE THIS BOARD!

I will say this... this place is way more friendly to people that are new quilters than I have ever seen before. Everyone I have read seems to be about the most kindest and friendliest of people I have ever met in the world of sewing.

I totally agree. I bet there are some people on here making books etc. That is so great.

Another place to look for ideas is in local Library.... Lots of books with many of the same block/Quilt patterns. I am lucky to have 2 libraries with in 8 miles of where I live.. The one has subscriptions to several Quilting magazines I can look at for new color ideas or projects... Oh yes and I picked up 8 copies of a Quilting magazine that someone had put in the FREE pile in the Entry... When I get done looking at them, I will donate them back to the library... Magazines are FREE.

I agree. My morning routine.... a cup of coffee and reading the board.

I agree. I'm very disappointed in the magazines anymore, (but they're a bit of an addiction..I shuffle my subscriptions around everytime they come due). They were great when I started back into quilting, but most seem to be simpy recycling patterns in newer fabrics. Almost every quilt or wallhanging I do now, I've taken my inspiration from members quilts illustrated on this board.

All of these posts are such a great tribute to the quilting board members, who are from the very beginner to the professional. I too have learned sooooo much. Thanks to you all.

Here! Here! To all of the above. The board even has a place to go when you need support like having a bad day, Dear Abby questions, medical test, surgery worries, plus more. I don't see any of that in a magazine. This is a great board!
