Remember when the professionals super glue you back together, it is a special STERILE glue designed for living tissue. Please don't superglue yourselves to avoid a trip to the ER.
Yes, I'm a nurse, also! |
mine needed stitches
|
I sliced the side off and even a smidgen of nail and couldn't get stitches, had to keep it wrapped for weeks and was very limited on what I could do, and five years later it still hurts if I hit it or do a lot of pinning. I was trimming bunny ears and never positioned hand right. Now I am more carful than ever.
Hope your heals good. |
I was lucky, as I was wearing long fingers nails. I cut through 2 nails and didn't notice no blood thank goodness but 2 new nails.

Ouch! I have read so many posts about cutting yourself with the rotary cutter that I invested in the Klutz glove. It is rather pricey but worth the $ if it prevents this. I bought mine at Joann's with a 50% off coupon. Here is the link that describes it http://www.shopfonsandporter.com/pro...utz-Glove-Med/

Welcome to our club! ;) I went to the ER got "super" glued.
|
Oh I feel your pain. Ouch! I hope you didn't slice it too bad.
|
I have a bad habit of reaching over my left hand with my right while still holding my rotary cut and am always nicking the top of my left tumb. So far band aides have been all I've needed. So no you are not alone and yes the first thing I thought was did I get blood on my fabric!

I think every quilt I've made has a little of my DNA embedded in it either from finger pricks or "slices." Oh well - no amputations yet so I consider myself lucky.

I joined the "flat spot on the side of my left index finger" club. OUCH!
