I have learned more from this board than from any of the classes I have taken. I am lost without
it. Thank you to everyone who is here now and in the future.

I second this sentiment wholeheartedly! As a new quilter, I know I can come here, do a search, and have my questions answered immediately. The QB community is knowledgeable, kind, caring and so very helpful. It has made my journey into the quilting world so much easier. Thank you all.

Well, all I can say is - A day without Quilt Board is like a day without Sunshine. I almost panic when I can't get my 'fix'.

quiltjoey 04-07-2014 09:17 AM

I've been on the QB for 4 years now. Went through the website changes and all and still love it and read it everyday, even if it's 2 in the morning! Have learned so much and no question is to stupid to ask! Love all you guys!!:D

OldHairTwister 04-07-2014 09:57 AM

Ditto to everything that's been said!!! I found this board when I first decided it was time become a quilter. Having been a seamstress all of my life (took my first trip on a treadle machine when I was seven) I had always said that I would take up quilting when I retired. Well....I turned 70 in December and am still not retired but have slowed down some & am spending lots of time quilting & learning from this board. I cannot thank all of you enough for the massive amounts of information that I have gleaned from coming to this board everyday. Am having my twenty fifth wedding anniversary in a couple weeks and my DH took me machine shopping and bought me a brand spanking new Baby Lock "Aria". I am in heaven. It knows more than I do but I'll learn to use all of it's features.
AND......I finally got my Quilting Board Digest today for the first time in over a week....Life Is Good:D

Let me add my appreciation. Before I began quilting, I frequently ran across quilting shows on cable. Usually, I would stop and watch, fascinated but having only the vaguest idea about what they were doing. I remember seeing Fons & Porter episodes before I ever knew who Fons & Porter were.

Now that I've joined the quilt making world, there is not one, NOT ONE, quilting show on my cable. But this board is a terrific substitute! I come here daily for a little chat with all of you about the agony and the ecstasy of this hobby and/or business we're engaged in. So glad you are all here!

I agree with everything said. It's such a wonderful, cozy by the fire, curl up and read thing here. Lots of great help from great people with lots of like mindedness. Love it too. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

lberna 04-07-2014 03:29 PM

If I ever have a question about anything, I come to this board. Anything at all. Everyone is so helpful.

wolf3349 04-07-2014 08:52 PM

I knew nothing about quilting when I started out and thanks to this site I have learnt so much valuable information--that now the ladies in our quilting get to gathers ask me how to do things the easy way. I should note that I still have a lot to learn , but I get my inspirations from all of you wonderful people on this site. I check it out every day unless I am sick.

Carrie in PA 04-08-2014 04:42 AM

That's exactly how i do it now, every morning.

That was supposed to quote someone. I need more coffee ;)

oldtnquiltinglady 04-08-2014 07:47 AM

This is also my daily visit on the steps with a cup of coffee--except no one sits on the steps anymore. When DH and I were newlyweds and lived in base housing, the guys went off to work in the morning, the moms got the kids off to school, then grabbed up their coffee cup and headed to the steps of the one who was first getting out there.....such a memory trip this morning. I love it. Thank you one and all, QB.

Nonna Judi 04-08-2014 08:30 AM

Ditto, ditto, ditto to all the wonderful, positive things said about this board. I usually lurk quietly in the shadows each day getting my "quilt fix" and occasionally I comment, but I am ALWAYS here daily. Thank you all for being such a great group!

linda faye 04-08-2014 02:47 PM

Thank you for this thread. I love the Board and its members!

I heartily agree with all previous replies on this thread.

I know that I don't need the e-mail to get to the board but it was like a morning hug to see that e-mail pop up and I do miss that. I wish they would fix whatever happened.

I also don't get my morning e-mail any more. I did ask a question as to why and I was told to go to help. I know that I can get to the board another way so I just did that. When I turned on my computer this afternoon there was my e-mail notice. When I saw it I felt like I was coming home. You all are super and I would really miss you all if I didn't have this board to come home to. There is no way that I can tell you all what the help and friendship from this board means to me. With much love. BrendaK

I am so thrilled to hear the same sentiment from so many! I love the story about "sitting on the steps" we were in Boston once and it was so cute to see all the ladies gather in the "alley" or street from all the apartments above the store fronts and drink coffee (or whatever) and chat up a storm. I think we would all be better for a bit of this old fashioned communication.............in the meantime there is Quilting Board!

onemoe 04-08-2014 04:43 PM

I missed a week of e-mails and life isn't the same without the daily fix.

msrosecooks 04-08-2014 05:04 PM

I look forward to it every morning!!!

Glad I'm here.

Same here. This is the only quilting site I visit regularly and enjoy the posts, projects and pictures of the many wonderful members. I get so much encouragement from the QB

MargeD 04-08-2014 06:21 PM

I thought I had lost the Quilting Board for a few days, but I'm glad it's back, as I've missed it. I feel like I am visiting friends when I go onto this site. Quilters are amazing people.

ME TOO. I was lost without my daily digest. I was glad to welcome my old dear friends back. Thank you one and all for all your input, help, guidance and support.

caspharm 04-08-2014 06:54 PM

I also agree with missing everyone and their posts. I thought I had somehow mistakenly turned off the digest. I missed it and the easier access than going in from updates. Glad it's back!

carolynjo 04-08-2014 06:59 PM

Ditto to all the above. Thank you all for your input and advice.

klutzyquilter 04-08-2014 07:15 PM

For some unknown reason, I didn't receive the digest for three days and felt "lost" ... that issue has finally been resolved and I feel "whole" again :) I don't know you, you don't know me but I consider all of you to be my quilting friends. Thank you for the daily lessons and inspiration.

Oops ! Didn't realize none of us were receiving the digest.

So glad to see Quilt Board in my email this evening and a big thanks to Patrice for responding so quick to our many complains about not receiving The QB daily digest.

QandE2010 04-08-2014 08:03 PM

I have been really busy for about 10 days and have missed coming on the board and getting my daily lesson of knowledge. So thank you, one and all.
I, too, am not a joiner, so this board is a true blessing.

JuanitaBean 04-08-2014 08:05 PM

I would like to say Thank you also. I have learnt a lot from all of you. I don't post a lot but I do read it.

Amythyst02 04-09-2014 03:21 AM

honestly seems to me, no matter what you do, quilt, sew etc., your welcome here on these boards and everyone is always so helpful, and kind, considerate, and the list goes on and on. I am so glad I found this wonderful group of ladies and gentlemen, to complete my quilting life.

Mollie'sMom 04-09-2014 04:31 AM

This is the first Quilt Board I have received since April 1st. I was so worried about what I would do. I quilt for two charity groups and this is where I get all my ideas. I love you all. Am here this morning with my coffee, trying to take it all in. Thanks for finding me again. Yeah!

JanieH 04-09-2014 09:55 AM

I am constantly amazed over the skill of members, whether it is finding a pattern or special piece of fabric, giving opinions on borders, etc., showcasing quilts, or the million and one other things members on this board do. And that it is done with love and caring, supporting old and new members.

What a special board we have!

country-girl 04-09-2014 03:01 PM

This is my copy of the board since April 1st and I thought something happened to prevent the board from being here.

I look forward to visiting the board everyday and when I can't my day just doesn't go right. Thanks to everyone on the board.
