Just......Thank you for being here!

Sitting musing while piecing this morning it occurred to me.......who else in the whole world would understand the agony of defeat or the bliss of victory...over a tiny scrap of fabric but other quilters! Thank you Quilting Board and members.:)

SHELTIE'SMAMA 04-06-2014 08:26 AM

I frequently muse about what a great bunch of web surfers. Block names, interesting techniques, shipping codes, sales alerts, pictures that provide an armchair quilt show, shopping advise and problem solving. You are a unique bunch and I can't imagine my life without a daily quilt board fix. Thank you guys!

Crqltr 04-06-2014 08:29 AM

Again with the praise...I often find myself talking about advise and ideas my friends on the quilt board give..then I explain it's a online group of wonderful friends. I look in many times during the day and love every thing I see!

Ditto!! This goes for me also! I can't imagine not getting my fix - daily - or even a few times a day!

PenniF 04-06-2014 08:46 AM

My husband and i worked together for years for a small 4 person business, now it's just the 2 of us working from home. I've always been very uncomfortable about being a "joiner".....but the QB has allowed me to feel like part of a great community. Just to see and get to share the amazing talent, skills, hard work, ideas, tricks, etc etc of so many ladies and gents.....Wow....i would sure miss it.

ScrappyAZ 04-06-2014 09:04 AM

I recently posted a couple of non-quilting related questions to the board, and I was amazed at the number of responses! Quilters are definitely helpful people. Hubby thinks it's odd that I'm so comfortable reaching out to people I don't know, but so far, no one has steered me wrong. I definitely consider this board part of my social group.

sandrab64 04-06-2014 09:37 AM

The other day I was testing out a new machine and another customer in the store and I got to talking. I was telling her how Elmers glue basting is BETTER than sliced bread and seeing how her eyes just lit up with that "aha" moment was fabulous. As I was talking I realized that the majority of what I know came from my QB mates. Thank you for making me sound somewhat intelligent and able to pass on information to those that are not members yet...but who probably will be soon!

luana 04-06-2014 10:56 AM

This board makes me :)!

serenitybygrace 04-06-2014 11:24 AM

I will add my thank you to everyone on this board and the moderators. I have learned so much. I have also had the opportunity to see fabulous quilts and other projects that you have made, those have certainly been an inspiration.

Cybrarian 04-06-2014 11:27 AM

To me this is the WebMD of the Quilting World. Information, advice, diagnosis, treatment, counseling it's all here:thumbup:

weasier22 04-06-2014 12:26 PM

So well said! The Quilting Board and members are my "comfort" zone! Everyone has so much to share and are always so willing to cry or laugh with you. It's a wonderful place.

sewingsuz 04-06-2014 12:32 PM

I was looking at a note book with notes I made when I first got on this board. LOL to myself, and said Why did I write that down? I have come along way with the help of all of you.

Chaney Ranch 04-06-2014 01:01 PM

I feel the same gratitude as all the previous ones who have posted. I have only been a member since November but I feel I have gained so much knowledge and skills as well as confidence in this short time, and I know my finished products are improving with each project. Thanks to everyone who participates in this Board!

Craftnut 04-06-2014 01:15 PM

It is great to have others that understand our particular addiction.

cindynvb 04-06-2014 01:28 PM

I get a lot from this board too.

TeresaA 04-06-2014 01:33 PM

I agree. I have been a member of many quilting lists over the years, but this is the only one I've truly "bonded" with. It's because everyone is so helpful. In addition, people seem to understand the opinion/belly button connection (as in everyone has one) and we can share our ideas with full support even when the opinion is different.

Glad I'm here.

athomenow 04-06-2014 01:39 PM

I will add my thanks for all the support and encouragement I get from all of you. There are some really knowledgeable people on here and wonderful ideas. Just this past week I learned a few tricks and things to make my quilting easier but also save some money. This is just a great place to come every day.

jcrow 04-06-2014 02:20 PM

It's funny how many quilters do NOT know about this board. I was taking a class on Buggy Barn quilts & I asked all the women if any of them belonged to The Quilting Board. Not a one. And no one knew who Jenny Doan was or Ricky Tims or Alex Alexander. I was shocked. I thought every quilter would check online & find a quilting forum to belong. And Ricky Tims & Alex have their magazine - you'd think at least one person would know about them. I'm just grateful I found this forum. I've seen other forums, but they don't compare to this site at all.

We have very knowledgeable people here & very compassionate people here. I need that to learn more about quilting & to commiserate with me when I'm down. Not one person wrote down the name of this site, either. They weren't interested. Funny to me. If someone mentioned something about quilting in a class & I could learn more, I'd have my pencil out & be writing as fast as I could. I guess we are all different.

But all of us on this forum have something in common - we love to chat with fellow quilters, love to learn new things, enjoy looking at pictures of others quilts, be able to ask any question (even if we think it's dumb), & have quilting friends. I have a great friend here on the board that writes me a pm every single day now for almost 2 years. The Quilting Board is a necessity for me. And probably all of you, also.

AngeliaNR 04-06-2014 02:55 PM

I consider this my quilting guild. I'm a solitary sort, but this board helps me interact with people who really love quilting. I can do it on my own schedule without having to go anywhere or meet with a large group--I'm very thankful for the opportunities the Board offers.

tessagin 04-06-2014 03:04 PM

I make notes from information I see on the QB. I consider the board my go to for all kinds of information and an extension of friends whom I may have never met but there is always someone from the board who lives near (within 100 miles)of a personal friend or relative. I'm not a joiner so to speak but I like the fact I can choose whether or not to participate that day or minute. Absolutely no "Quilt Police".

ILoveToQuilt 04-06-2014 03:32 PM

Can always count on QB members for a kind word, a "hug", a prayer, a bit of praise and lots of friendship. Thanks for being QB! Don't know where I'd be without all of you. :)

Bobbielinks 04-06-2014 03:43 PM

Wish I could express myself as well as others here have. Since I can't I must second every single post above. LOVE
THIS BOARD!!!

ManiacQuilter2 04-06-2014 03:43 PM

I have been amazed at what some of the new quilting techniques that are used, but now you all keep me informed on what is new in the quilting circles since it was Simply Quilts that kept me informed. I do enjoy the friendship of the people on this board and have actually made friends with people I originally met on this board. Please forgive me, but I will never ever used white glue on one of my quilts. It is sometimes difficult for this old dog to embrace new ideas!! :)

FroggyinTexas 04-06-2014 03:47 PM

Me, too. I enjoy nearly every day here. But I am missing the digest. Wonder where it went? froggyintexas

I am grateful to be apart of this board there are so many nice people here who have helped become a better quilter. Thank you:o

Nammie to 7 04-06-2014 06:27 PM

I never fail to learn something from this board!!

Dina 04-06-2014 06:37 PM

I been addicted to this board since I joined. It is the best place to be for everything and I stop by several times a day. It is a good thing I didn't start quilting before I retired from teaching or I would have found myself stopping in during the school day when I should have had my mind on my students!

citruscountyquilter 04-07-2014 02:01 AM

This is how I start my morning. I have learned so much. I no longer get the e-mail each morning as I'm finding a lot of others don't either. I know that I don't need the e-mail to get to the board but it was like a morning hug to see that e-mail pop up and I do miss that. I wish they would fix whatever happened.

cmierley 04-07-2014 02:23 AM

I LOVE this board. I have learned so much and I pass it along to other quilting friends. It's the first thing I do when I wake up. I lay in bed and read them. It's my fix for the day. I also miss the digest. But thank you all for your help and support!

sandy l 04-07-2014 02:57 AM

A cup of coffee and QB are the best way to start the day:thumbup:

Sharoncignoni 04-07-2014 03:13 AM

I agree with everyone's comments, I was without the daily emails for the last two weeks (I don't know why so I updated my profile and hope they start coming again). I felt I lost communication with my best friend. I have learned so much through this board, thank you.

DebbieJJ 04-07-2014 03:18 AM

I "second" everything that's been said above. I don't say a lot on the board, but I really do consider you all as my friends and I value your opinions and comments. I also am sort of a loner in my quilting, but this group is wonderful. Thank you for always being there, my friends!

orangeroom 04-07-2014 03:24 AM

It's nice to know you 'fit' in, isn't it? Even if you are not a 'joiner,' you can join in here at your own pace and leisure. I've recommended the QB to many people who visit where I work.

Virginiagirl 04-07-2014 04:00 AM

I have been missing the digest also. Don't know what happened.

jbingwell 04-07-2014 04:16 AM

I agree with all of you. I'm not a joiner and haven't enjoyed the classes I've taken. I have learned far more here than from any class. I enjoy my coffee and quiet time with QB. Thank you all.

lynnie 04-07-2014 04:17 AM

I think the people here are the greatest. where else can you go and give half
a description and 10 people come back with the answer. You all here are the
greatest group I've ever been involved with.
I'm made some great friends here. thank you...all of you!

Reba'squilts 04-07-2014 04:40 AM

I want to add my input to this thread. I love the quilt board! I read it every morning with my coffee. I say I am self taught...but I really am quilt board taught. Thanks everyone for making it a great place to visit!

lclang 04-07-2014 05:00 AM

EVERY morning I sit with all of you and enjoy the pictures, comments, stories, and hints. Sometimes I print them for future use. Sometimes I print them for simple quilts put together in a different way, or color choices. Thanks to your input I wander off to other blogs, U-tube videos, or commercial sites. THANK YOU all for your input. See you again tomorrow!

LITTLEOLDME 04-07-2014 05:47 AM

I didn't get my news board for several days, like a missed letter from an old friend.

Quiltngolfer 04-07-2014 05:54 AM

I wish to add my appreciation to everyone here. I start my day with the Quiltboard and a cup of coffee. I have learned so much from you all, and been inspired to do more quilting. I consider you my friends. It's neat to feel like I have friends all over the world. This is a warm cozy place to come to, and I can always depend on finding the answer to a question here. Thanks to you all.
