It is a beautiful line. Isn't it amazing how your friends on QB are helping you to rationalize breaking your fabric buying moratorium before it even starts? lol

What are friends for??

Just remember fabric has a shelf life, so if you see it, buy it as it may not be there when you go back.

Material Witness 12-11-2012 01:01 PM

Really! Quiltstrings, study Raggiemom's answer. This is what we come to the Board for!!

maryellen2u 12-11-2012 01:35 PM

I think that this is a message from the universe that it is not time for a fabric moratorium.

JanieH 12-11-2012 03:15 PM

Personally I think you should give fabric buying for Lent so you can buy your Iris Garden now!

collady 12-11-2012 03:20 PM

If you purchase the fabric before January 1 and the moratorium starts on January 1, you are not violating the moratorium. At least that is the way I see it!

Pat625 12-11-2012 05:02 PM

If yoou place your order BEFORE 2013 it doesn't count...RIGHT??? Lucky it isn't pansies or I would be in BIG trouble!!

Life is short. People usually regret more the things they didn't do than the things they did. You love irises and this fabric speaks to you. Buy 2 yards of each and make something beautiful; you'll be glad you did!

Oh they look so pretty!!!

wolph33 12-12-2012 06:32 AM

lol-fabric moratorium.I am a junkie thru and thru-I try to stop buying but it is too hard

KarenR 12-12-2012 06:48 AM

I thought the fabric moratium started in Jan. 2013

Pre-order it know and then it doesn't count- because you bought it in 2012. Do it today as it is 12/12/12. lol

jimsjunque 12-12-2012 07:26 AM

Just get it !!!!!

Lucy90 12-12-2012 07:55 AM

I also had a moratorium about buying fabric. I went to visit my son in Holland, MI I broke that moratorium. It was fun! Then our LQS has a sale. So I'm not buying after the first of the year. Wish me well

cat2quilt 12-12-2012 11:01 AM

I can see how this would be a challenge.

jcrow 12-12-2012 11:42 AM

It will eat you alive if you don't buy any of it. If it were me, I would buy a fat quarter bundle and a couple of yards of two of my favorite fabrics from the line for borders and sashing. There has been too many times when I've wanted a fabric line and I said "no, I shouldn't" and later I try to get it and all I can get is a couple of pieces. So, do it as soon as it comes out and change your motto to "I won't buy just ANY fabric, only fabric I can't live without". Well, something like that.

Maralyn 12-13-2012 03:13 PM

Beautiful - please buy some!

Ruby the Quilter 12-15-2012 12:11 AM

WOW what beautiful fabric. Any ideas on a pattern for this fabric? - and I might just get some with the right pattern in mind.

sewbeadit 12-15-2012 01:16 AM

I have broken my moratorium so many times it is pathetic. Yes I am pathetic, having said that, go buy some of it!

No pattern in mind yet. Thanks to all for your suggestions. You are all enablers and I appreciate it very much. I'm ordering it today. I'm going to order a layer cake so I can actually see the fabric and then I can choose what I want to buy more of. The pattern will have to be something fairly simple to showcase the fabric, not the pattern. I'll let you all know what I do with it. Thanks for all your help. It's been a long time since I've been really excited by a fabric line. The last time was Summer Breeze and Summer Breeze II, and of course, it was Moda.

Good luck. I know how hard it is.

karenpatrick 12-15-2012 10:00 AM

OK. I ordered the layer cake. That way I can get a close up look at all the fabric in the line and decide what yardage I want. In case anyone is interested, Green Fairy Quilts (I'm not affiliated with them in any way) has all their pre-cuts on sale on all the new lines. All the charms are 6.95, layers are 29.95 and so are the jelly rolls. The yardage isn't out yet so I don't know how much it will be. I've never ordered from them before so I can't recommend them yet.

Pat625 12-16-2012 05:11 PM

HHHMMMM...14 days till New Years Eve..plenty of time to order/buy...Does it count if it gets delivered after the new year?

karenpatrick 12-21-2012 08:53 AM

The layer cake came today. Oh my. Such beautiful fabric. The designer has really outdone themselves. I can never post pics or i would show the ones I like best. Making a quilt with just the layer cake will be gorgeous. Will pick one for the border and one for background. Just have to pick a colorway. That's going to be the hard part. I love them all.

Bevsie 12-28-2012 02:29 PM

Lucy90,

I wish you luck and will join you in that moratorium! We'll have to just drink coffee and no more QS!
