Kaleidoscope pattern-triangles, not OBW??

I am searching for a pattern and some info on picking color values for a kaleidoscope quilt. I want to make the triangle blocks, not the fussy cut one block wonders. Is there a different name I should be searching for? Not having much luck! Dunster posted a picture of her quilt on a thread I found in a search, and I love the illusion created with her fabric color values.... If only I could find the pic again to attach! ;)
Thank you.....

Maybe you mean Stack-n-Whack? Check out this tutorial. Scroll down the page and it talks about using 60* triangles to form a hexagon. http://www.connectingthreads.com/tut...hack__D22.html

Thank you for remembering my kaleidoscope quilt. It was one of my earliest quilts, and I like it more now than when I first made it. (Strange how that happens, isn't it?) I found patterns in several books - can't remember which one I used. Try Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns (a Leisure Arts Presents book) or Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!! by Diana McClu and Laura Nownes. This picture was taken on the design wall before the quilt was quilted.

I made one years ago and was going to recommend both of those books as well! Im not at home so i cant look it up for you. I enjoyed making that one and know the pattern came from one of those two books.

That's a beauty! Strange how some of our early quilts seem better.

THANK YOU! I love your quilt, Dunster! The color values are exactly what I hope to accomplish! :). I will search for the books.....again, thanks so much!

I think that Eleanor Burns has a book. I took her test class for finding any difficulties with the book. It is a UFO buried somewhere. Very pretty quilt, dunster.

Absolutely beautiful. I recently got the 60 degree kaleidoscope ruler. Can't wait to make one. Thanks for the book links.

Maureen-I could be wrong, but I don't think Dunster's quilt was made with the 60 degree ruler? I believe your ruler is for the one block wonder type quilt....hopefully someone who knows will chime in! I found a copy of Quilts Quilts Quilts (Used) for $4 (with shipping!) on amazon....
