When you get it, FRAME IT! That truly is a treasure for all time! When your darling GDD is 21 give it to HER for a Christmas present. This is a family heirloom!

I did the same thing with my dresses when I was five. Mother was not happy. But my dresses were made from feed sacks so I had a good "eye" even at that age.

Whether or not your DIL knows it now, in her later years this memory will put a smile on her face. Today you have the laughter along with a memory that will linger daily. Good for you. Remember to write this down so that your GD will also have this memory of her achievement and creativity in using scotch tape; great things are coming for her.

and this is why I keep all sharp cutting tools well out of dds reach and why I plan on getting her a toy sewing machine at joanns on the 3rd or so at their labor day sale. only 14.99 for a singer kids sewing machine. I like that it has a needle guard for little fingers. will help dd learn to sew. well as much as she can on a toy machine. Thinking of getting a hello kitty for her fourth b-day if she is good and if she likes it. (she will be 3 in February)

TOO FUNNY!

My DGD was spending ONE night with me once, and she (age 7) wanted to make a quilt. My brain is racing, because Grammy has to make a grandchild's wishes come true. So I decided to start with blocks. She choice her fabrics. She made two nine patch blocks. 'We' turned it into a pillow. She stuffed it and she even did the whip stitch to close it. She was SOO proud. She even entered it in the fair. She won a BLUE ribbon. Now the 9" pillow has two different colored 9 patch blocks (that really don't 'match'), but it was her fabric choice. My DD had to work hard to keep a positive look on her face, when DGD was showing off her 'quilting'. I received the "what were you thinking look?" DGD is now 10 and still has her blue ribbon 9 patch pillow.

Ah the memories we make!

This is too precious. Your granddaughter is going to be an inventor and entreprenour (sp?). She's a gem.
