I have one machine n one without it. I love the one with it. I work in a sewing factory for years and that's what we used. VERY hard to sew without it. :)

Knee LIFT??? I'd much rather work with a knee control than a foot control.

Now that we have established what a lift and a control are, lol, I love my lift!
I use it alot when chain sewing; when binding and doing the mitered corners after I sew to the 1/4", lift, pivot, sew off the fabric, make my angle, and sew again. When I piecced my log cabin blocks recently for the watermelon quilt (SIP) I used it to chain stitch each section on each block then started the process all over again for the next piece. Love it and would not want another machine without one except of course teh wonderful vintage ones.
I have the stop/start button on my machine, but I cannot get used to using it.
