Although now that I've seen the embroidery mentioned on this post, I think that's neat too!

When I made quilts for the college age grands, I embroidered their names every 10 inches on an inner border with thread that was the same color as the fabric. I didn't want the quilts to 'disappear' in the dorms.
I thought of it as owner ID. I like the idea of quilt artist ID.
