Wow! I had a tough time with a full size quilt, can't imagine you all doing the king size ones!?

Has anyone used the Janome 11000 where you quilt in the hoop? I am considering buying one, but I wonder if it would be a pain to keep moving the fabric every 6" or so? They make a 10" hoop too, but that seems like a lot of unclasping and moving fabric?

Yes, it does. I haven't quilted anything that large but even in the smaller ones I've done I've noticed the batting makes a big difference. I use low loft poly batting and even the brand of that makes a difference, I've discovered.

On my Bernina 830 LE, 114 x 122 for super King. Didn't have any problems.

120x120 on my Janome 6600P. I had space to support it and as Ricky Timms says...quilted it one pot holder at a time.

You can do just about anything on a 1500! Give it a try.

I did a king size 110x110 on my White quilters star. I used a very thin batting and just quilted in diagonals. It was quite a challenge but doable

Wow.....I've sent all my large quilts out to my longarmer as I lack confidence in myself. I have a Janome 6600P......reading this post has made me think that MAYBE just MAYBE I could do this!!

Question: When you baste your quilts, do you just run across your quilts every 12 inches or so end to end and across??? Or even further apart than that??
