Laundry hamper for scraps?

Ladies, I'm looking for something in which to store my scraps...not something plastic that I can shove in a closet and never see again. Would you use a canvas 3 bag divided laundry hamper on rollers for your scraps? I realize they are a good size, but it will fit under my cutting table and will have a bag for neutrals, dark's, and a whatever else bag. This way I can see my scraps adding up and work on making something out of them little by little. Opinions please.

Sounds like a real good plan esp. if it will fit under your cutting table. You will have scraps easily available to incorporate into whatever you are working on.

I've never used a hamper like that but it sounds like a great idea. I have 3 large plastic tubs that slide under my quilting frame out of the way but easily accessible.

I like your idea, this is a great way to keep them handy, organized, nearby and tidy.

I have the canvas bags and holder. It works well for me, but does not fit underneath anything in my sewing room, so it takes up room. (Maybe I need to re-arrange my sewing room). I have my scraps divided in light, medium and darks. It comes in hand, easy to look for a lot of fabric in a short period of time. It is also neat to put other projects on top in different stages, (like another table). I like to go through the scraps to remind me of previous projects I have made.

Good idea. I have one in a closet somewhere. My niece left it here when she stayed with me for awhile. I never thought about using it under my cutting table.

Sounds like a brilliant idea.

I purchased a pop-up mesh hamper from WallyWorld...$3.88! Works for me! You will find them pegged near the closet accessories.
