I'm too into instant gratification. I have enough trouble waiting for the package when I order on line. I can only imagine if I had to wait 60 days to get something! I'd be a wreak.

Oh my! This could be dangerous. My luck by the time I got it, I wouldn't really like it anymore. Or would have forgotten what I ordered it for. :D I've never seen Layaway for fabric. I do remember when it was a common thing in all the dept Stores, even WalMart.

If it wasn't for layaway back in the day my poor kids wouldn't have had clothes. I did supplement with yard sales. I think the quality of the clothes was even better then too.

The cotton patch quilt shoppe in East Tawas, Michigan has been offering a lay away program for a long time, you put into your cart what you would like, they cut your fabric and put it aside, charge you for 1/3 of the cost plus the shipping,,,then over the next 2 months they charge the other 2/3, then send you your package..i am always too impatient, have not tried it, when i order fabric i usually want it yesturday ;) but i have a friend who used the program last year to do some christmas shopping...she loved the whole program.

For us "Quiltaholics" it will be a never ending project. We may end up getting a new lay away before finish paying for the first one. We will be broke.

But will I still want it in 60 days. I want it now so I can start cutting tonight.

I do this all the time on HSN and QVC, and it works fine.
They do not leave it up to you to pay it. They will
automatically every month at the same time take the
required payment out of your checking account or charge it
to your credit card or whatever. I bought a new sewing machine that way and a new serger that way.

Does it say they won't send it to you for sixty days? I
believe they send you the fabric immediately upon payment
of the first amount, and then you will pay the rest as the
months go by, but that thought did not occur to me that
they wouldn't send the fabric right away.
