which layout do you like?
2 Attachment(s)
This is my 2nd use of these leftover flannel fabrics for a scrappy quilt.
First was a string paper foundation. Now I am trying a log cabin variation . I will also do one in blues. Lots of leftover fabric scraps from making t-shirts for newborns. Which layout do you like? Top or bottom. |
I like the first one.

top one
great project! |

J50, Try it with a big red square in the middle by swapping out the corner red ones on the first one and binding in red

Was just thinking of that with . the red is really orange.
now we have three choices |
I like #3 the best.
I like the first one.
I like it, without the bright red/orange. I think there is too much contrast. But when you remove the bright red/orange, it makes a nice pastel. I guess I am in the minority.
I like the first one.
I like the the 3rd one. But i think it needs four more strips of orange —one on each side of the big box over to the edges, lije a wheel with spokes.
I like #3 the best. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:D
I like the first one best, but all three work!
I prefer the Top one - placement of the orange fabric
#1 or #3 or is it #2? So hard to decide as they're all really nice...I know, I'm no help!

I like number 3. I think you have to just go with what you like best ultimately!
I like the third one best. Although, how about moving no 2 around a little? Rotate the centre two with the orange L's so that the light squares on those blocks are pointing to the corner blocks.
Yes so many choices. I do agree that the orange is very contrasting. That is why at first I spread it out then decided if it was present to make it prominent.
Or do I want just a relaxing pastel and remove the orange. I have so many scraps I will be making more quilts. Love all of the comments! Thanks.:o |
I thing I like the one with the Orange "L's" scattered rather than on the diagonal.
Since you used the term “scrappy” quilt...I like the first photo best. What a great use of your leftovers.
i like number 3
I vote for the 1st one
This is such a happy quilt!! So fun and cheery!! I like the orange as an accent and I prefer the layout in your 1st pic. It is whimsical and allows your eye to travel around the quilt to notice the other fun prints - it gives the design more movement.
Which ever you choose will give you pretty results!! |
Thanks costume girl could not have said it better.
Most do like the first one so I will probably go with that. Even though I did have another layout with the oranges in the outer corners the first has more movement and that is what I wanted to achieve. Carry on. I am always looking for more input. |
The first one is more interesting.
I'm working on a flannel quilt right now and just love working with it.
I also prefer the first one but they're all adorable so you can't lose! :) |
Isn't it fun to move blocks around! I sometimes spend hours/days/weeks doing it. Number 3 provides a nice center medallion. Depending on how big you want to do this, you could add some more blocks that make the orange into a border around the medallion. And then some more around those blocks, making another orange border.
While they both have a pattern, the first appears to be more 'organic' in the planning and lends itself better (I feel) to the scrappy look. I really like it and I'm sure the blue one will look great too.
1st or 3rd looks best.
Have you gotten this sewn yet? If not...how about putting the orange "L's" in the corners and pull the corner blocks into the center with placement to the oranges in version 3?
It's a sweet little quilt...any way you place the blocks! |
I like number 1 best too.
first one i think. cute!!
I really like the first one.

I vote this way also. It is so much more relaxing. Could you use the orange in another scrap quilt?
I agree!!!!!!!!! |

It's a sweet little quilt...any way you place the blocks! I do have that layout and like it. It is a choice between #1 and the one with oranges on the corners.(not shown). Great minds think alike. |
I really like the 3rd one.
I vote for the first one~~
