Left over triangles

I have so many leftover triangles from past quilt projects. They are all different sizes so I'm having a problem using them. What do you do with left over triangles?

I haven't assembled mine yet, but when I do, I will probably use some on a quilt back to add some interest to it. Smaller ones I could do several rows, larger ones maybe 1-2 rows. Whatever inspires me at that moment in time. :)

I pitch them. Life is too short. I just want to make more of them. ;)

I have started making pinwheels with triangles. Larger triangles are subcut into smaller pieces and sewn into HSTs. Then the HSTs are cut down to 2-1/2" blocks. I plan to do a simple 2-block quilt with pinwheels and solid blocks when I have enough of them.

it depends on size. You can make flying geese or HSTs. Maybe pass them on to someone who will enjoy using them.

I save them up and make a pin wheel quilt, the last one I made, which was a small quilt. I donated to our local Humane Society for a fund raising event, it auctioned off for $100, which I thought was a good price. If you don't want to use them, how about posting them on the board.

I make mini log cabin blocks by paper piecing with 1/4 grid graph paper. I used to make HST's but never used them.

One of the quilters that I know has a friend that appliques and uses a lot of smaller pieces. So I keep a bag handy and when I get something, toss it into the bag. Feel like someone is getting some benefit and if she pitches them, that's fine too.

I have been 'collecting' 2.5 HST for a few year. Mine were also 'leftovers' to use one day. I had made some mondo bags and decided to do another. They take 2.5 squares, {{lightbulb}} what about all (204) those HST. The bag takes 208, so I cut down some 3.5 (also saving for 'some day').

I've got a box just for those leftover triangles. I'm using them to make Wild and Goosey blocks. It's a Bonnie Hunter pattern that appeared in Quiltmaker magazine: http://www.quiltmaker.com/articles/Wild___Goosey

The blocks are very small and make great use of little bitty scrap triangles.
