Your "Sunflower" is a Jennie Rayment pattern. Love it. I did this as a poinsettia for a Christmas quilt. Jennie's e-mail is: [email protected] and her website is: www:jennierayment.com. If you are ever lucky enough be be anywhere close to where she is teaching or giving a trunk show - don't miss it. She is a fantastic and funny teacher/speaker.
You don't have much to do to finish your sunflower. You appear to have already tacked the petal close to the center. Next is to go up a little way and fold towards the center the outside part of the petal and tack it down. Then you need to applique the entire flower onto your background, add borders if you choose to, sandwich, quilt, and bind. That's it. |
Wow, both very pretty!

I love the sun flower it is really pretty, the other one is really nice too

The sunflower looks like something from Jennie Raymont. I took a class from her last year at a quilt show. Awesome class. Her class was fun and educational. I loved it. I think she is teaching again this year. She taught several classes. The one I really wanted was on a day i couldn't go. If you ever get an opportunity to take one of her classes do it.

Thanks ladies for all your kind words. While looking for a pattern I found the whole set of instructions that I printed out and put in a binder. You are correct it is Jennie Rayment's pattern from her book Creative Tucks and Textures for Quilters and Embroiderers. I think I might look at that book to buy.
Janquilts-I love your block and especially the colors. |
