Large throw sized quilts for my mom, brother and his wife. Not using Christmas fabrics, just giving them as Christmas gifts. I'm new at quilting, made few so far. Still have made nothing for myself so I might also make myself some pot holders and table runners from the cute Moda line with the sock monkeys dressed as Santa Claus.

I make projects for our guild silent auction table and the best sellers last year were very nice table runners made from elegant fabric with the big full tassels added to the ends. I use the 10 min tabblerunner pattern with satin, velvet, gold and silver metallic fabrics. I bought the ready made tassels in the drapery dept. My girls want the terry after shower hair wraps every year in their stockings. I keep a supply of those made up and ready. I buy nice towels on clearance to make them. Not thick ones, they get too heavy on the head. LOL.

I will include a mug and packet of cocoa mix. I make my own cocoa mix and add a baggie of mini marshmallows. I also dehydrate my own marshmallows. Do you think that will be OK?

Recipe please, if you don't mind sharing????

You dehydrate your own marshmallows? Cool. I would have never thought of that. Do you mean you dehydrate store-bought marshmallows or marshmallows that you make? I have seen several marshmallow recipes. I think there was one posted that were chocolate marshmallows. Yum! :-D

I have embroidered on cotton kitchen towels and used coordinating fabric for hot pads. (hot peppers on some and cherries on others). Also composition covers from Indygo Junction. One is for my sister to use as a knitting journal. Need to start on cold process soap.

I'm making white linen kitchen towels with chicken-scratch embroidery in red and green; tan and green as well as tan and red kitchen towels made from pillow ticking; and table toppers made from home spun fabrics. I plan to wrap them in tissue paper and tying them off with jute or raffia. Depending on the recipient, I will wrap bags of cookies in the towels and tie them off. I did mug rugs, napkins and place mats last year.

Great topic and fabulous ideas.

I am very new to quilting/sewing....does anyone have an advent calendar pattern than would be willing to share?

TIA!

Last winter I bought panels on sale. Two are the 12 Days of Christmas, two are cute "drawings" of santa, stockings, packages, etc. Since they are wonderful panels by themselves, I am just putting a backing material that matches each front color, doing minimal quilting and on one panel will be a dowel rod and ribbon; at the top and the other will have a curtain tie-back (it's green). Both will be hung up on a wall, banister, door, wherever.
Simple and I almost have four presents done already! (I just have sewn a few hours on them.)
