So hard to pick one .... I think #2, no wait ... # 1 ... or maybe ... yea, #2. Oh heck, I really like them both so pick the one that you would like to sew or maybe would be easier to put together. Or ... do one design now and save the other for the next special occasion.

Love both but #2 is very cool!

That's what I've decided. DH likes #2 and since the gift is from both us us I'll go with that one for the new baby. But I'm keeping #1 in mind for a future project.
