we have a huge square glass coffee table on wheels. I clear it off and put a light under it (usually one those plug-in bar florescent lights) and it works great! I may be challenged in the future as I have to get down on a small stool to do the tracing, but it works for now!

I have a Crayola one for small projects. For larger ones, I have a large picture frame with glass (purchased at Goodwill for a couple of dollars). Sometimes I use the plate-glass window and painter's tape at our Extension Office for really large projects.

I use my acrylic sewing machine extension as a light box. I place my stella light under it. It has 3 light settings.

I have the large Litup box. It's great to turn it on and start using. I don't have to move furniture, find a dish, or remove a lamp shade. Creating a chore for myself is something I try to avoid, especially in my quilting.

I finally bought one & I got it on amazon for $79 I think. It's a large one & it came with a carrying case. I love that it's so thin too. Just read the reviews & you'll make a good decision.

MeadowMist, the premise is pretty simple, but I'll try to break it down in a way that's not too "wordy". LOL
I hope that helps! Thank you |
My husband made me one of wood and plexiglass and attached a florescent light to the inside. It is very nice for large items. Then I bought the LightTracer at Michaels for smaller items, very inexpensive around twenty bucks. It is much lighter made of plastic and so easy to set up and to carry to quilt meetings. I just store it in its original box when not in use. Both of my boxes take up very little space since I can stand them up on the end. By the way, all I have to do is set either of them on the table, plug into receptacle and turn on the light switch, easy, peasy.

If you have a top loading washing machine, get a sheet of plexiglass to lay over the open top and add a flourescent light or a bright blashlight in the bottom and you have a fine large light box.
