Fabric Depot is AWESOME! I live about 50 miles from their store, and try to visit everytime I go to the 'big city' - Portland, OR. 1 1/2 acres of fabric!! Heaven. :)

If you shop online and stick with brands you know, you'll be fine. There are some nice marbles or tonals from Moda, Timeless Treasures, Kaufman. I have also bought some less expensive ones, not sure where or the brand, but they weren't that great.

It can't hurt to call and let them know you're not happy. Good luck!

I visit my childhood friend in Oregon just about every year. She is not a quilter so I've yet to get to Fabric Depot. This year I've vowed I'm going - even if I have to take the shuttle to get there. I have purchased many notions and lots and lots of fabric from FD, and I agree with you, they are awesome!

Tri-Met the bus system in Portland is excellent - might want to check it out to get you there. GO! You will not regret it.

I hope you called the company. Most want a chance to make things right, rather than have their name smeared over the internet.

Generally, if you ask, a company will pay for return shipping if you are not satisfied with their product.

I would definitely contact them. They can't do anything about it if they know you are unhappy with what you received.

Of course you should contact them! I hope that there will be a satisfactory outcome for you. For future online purchases, I would recommend that you not be tempted by any fabric that is lacking the manufacturer in the description. I also agree that it is a good idea to develop a relationship with a few online shops...I'm leery of any that do not have toll free phone numbers. I do more shopping online than I do in brick and mortar shops...and I'm a one woman fabric acquisition machine! LOL

Why is the toll-free number important? Is it so you know you can call them and ask questions?
