I love the Quilt in A Day book on Log Cabins. It gives the basic blocks, alternative quilt sizes and layouts

I love her book, too. I have it out from the library right now, just to look at the pictures. Quilt porn, heehee.http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...aughing018.gif

Sandy 1951--You aren't engaging in "quilt porn"---you DO read the articles, don't you? You're a funny gal!!!  (Have to admit, I like the term, "quilt porn")

I'm a great lover of log cabin quilts too. Anytime someone wants to post a pic of one, I'd be glad to look. Guess that makes me a "quilt peeper"!!!

I just watched El Burns video on Orions Star. It is a log cabin with a star in the middle.

I like the quilt in a day Courthouse Steps book. I love the different layouts you can get with the courthouse step block.

Shorebird...what is the pattern in your avatar? It looks like a variation on a trip around the world? Whatever it is, it is beautiful!

THANKS for the compliment! It is called JAMAICA, and it is from Blanche Young's book"Traditions with a Twist"...Did more un-sewing on this than any other........36 different strip sets.....picture does not do the colors justice. They are all batiks, including the black......It really was a fun one to put together..........If you have not seen her book, and you like strip piecing, you should get it........colors they choose in the book are not the best to show off the designs, but the designs are really different and easy to do.
