That's just wrong !! Definately recontact, when this was delivered she should have been able to see if there might be a problem, not at the 2/3 mark, this has to be wound on the spools so you see then if anything is looking wonky before a stitch goes in. Good Luck with it!!

wolph33 11-05-2010 07:54 AM

that is wrong on so many levels.dishonest not straightforward, etc.stop payment right away

That is terrible to treat a customer that way. I agree with the other posters on this board, she should have contacted you if there was a problem.

hperttula123 11-05-2010 09:39 AM

OMG...stop payment. If she didn't finish it, she shouldn't get paid the full amount. If she didn't have the respect to call you and explain the problem, she shouldn't get $250 for not finishing your quilt.

How awful!! I am appalled that at how this was handled by the longarmer. She absolutely should have contacted you as soon as she realized she was not going to be able to quilt in the manner the two of you agreed upon. I hope you can get your money back or a portion anyway. What a mess!! All that work...

quilttiludrop 11-05-2010 10:51 AM

I'm shocked! It was definitely a breach of contract for her to give you an unfinished product, to say nothing of unprofessional.

The sad part is this longarmer was supposedly a friend. Original price was to be $375.00 but for cash 250.00 ( I know, I know...STUPID!!) My friend( the other longarmer) says it is so distorted because she loaded it on the bars wrong, and stretched it. I can't get my money back...but, Unpostive feedback can be justice I guess. All I know, is I have alot of work ahead of me. I will try and post a picture over the weekend. Thanks for all your suggestions and support!

That's pretty rude of her to do to you. I'm sorry it happened. I'm with the others here. Stop payment on the check!

moonangel12 11-05-2010 11:24 AM

Oh my goodness! That's awful!!! I'm so sorry! I would be sick... just the thought infuriates me! Have you tried talking to her? Maybe you can reach an agreement for her to redo it at no extra cost (if you even trust her to do that at this point). Have you ever had anything done by her before??

I am even more appalled. A friend? Well the only way to get any of your money back is a face to face confrontation. I would try anyway as much as I abhor confrontation. The $250 "deal" was for a completed quilt. She is not entitled to anything IMHO. Not only did she not complete the quilt, she distorted it by loading it wrong? I am at a loss as to how that can be done but I should never under estimate people who know just enough to be dangerous. I would set up an appointment to meet with her. Take the note and lay it on the line. Refund the money or you will make sure everyone will know what kind of business she does.
