I asked him if he could make me a thread cone holder. He showed up this morning with a disgruntled thread server:D! OK, you gals, I need to name her! Any suggestions?

QuiltnNan 07-24-2012 08:43 AM

Country1 07-24-2012 08:45 AM

How cute. My 1st thought was Eunice.

kayluvs2quilt 07-24-2012 08:47 AM

Flo....she helps your thread flow to sew.

You have a verrry talented son......I love the holder.

Sewbeeit2 07-24-2012 08:50 AM

Slinderilla

Jingle 07-24-2012 08:50 AM

Don't know about a name. Your Son is very creative and has a great imagination. He did a great job on it.

sylviak 07-24-2012 08:59 AM

She looks like a mean, old nanny! LOL! Paul has a real sense of humor and is very good with his hands. He had a lot of fun making it.

Deborahlees 07-24-2012 09:01 AM

How super cute is that....I do like Flo !!!!!!!!!!!

Annaquilts 07-24-2012 09:01 AM

Love it! Your son is great at making things and so sweet to make you something so cute. I like Bertha also

Sunnie 07-24-2012 09:06 AM

She is way to cute. She'll put a smile of your face every time you use her.

Rubesgirl 07-24-2012 09:17 AM

No name suggestions but she is very cute! What a great gift from your son! :)

Nanaquilts44 07-24-2012 09:18 AM

Soooo cute! How about Threadna?

dunster 07-24-2012 09:40 AM

Your son must be an artist. What an imagination! I bet he could sell those by the dozens.

Crqltr 07-24-2012 09:50 AM

So cute! These have craft show/quilt show sales written all over it!

ArtsyOne 07-24-2012 09:53 AM

What a great sense of humour your son has! I agree with Crqltr - he needs to make these for a quilt show, because I'd be first in line to buy one.

That's what I told him. He's been using a welder that belongs to a lady he did some work for. It belonged to her husband, but he had a heart attack and died a couple of years ago, so she has let him use it. However, she is getting married and moving to Odessa in September, so she's taking the welder with her since her new husband is interested in welding. We may have to look for a welder for him. He was laid off from his job and hasn't been able to find one with good benefits. His wife is diabetic and he has 2 girls in college. He is very talented and has a lot of applications in, but you know how the economy is right now. Hope he finds something soon. Meantime, he's working odd jobs, installing cabinets, putting in tile, building fences, plumbing and electrical work.

Your son is super talented!!! When I look at your thread holder I don't see a girl, I see a guy - like a concierge. Maybe Conrad or Connie?

jrhboxers 07-24-2012 10:14 AM

What a great gift from your son. I am sure that you will cherish it always. My first thought of a name was Gussie. She is disgruntled or disgusted so I came up with Gussie.

quilter824 07-24-2012 10:23 AM

To me she looks like a Silvia. You're son is very talented and I for one would love to by one of those if he starts selling them.

5moose 07-24-2012 10:23 AM

Oh My Goodness....how cute she/he is! What a keepsake for you! Love it!

barri1 07-24-2012 10:26 AM

Please tell your son i want one!!!!!!!!

Tink's Mom 07-24-2012 10:27 AM

She resembles Aunt Della...especially the disgruntled part. Aunt Della was my grandfather's sister...she lived to 94.

Tell son that he did a great job.

romanojg 07-24-2012 10:29 AM

I'm sorry, but when I look at her the first thing that came to mind was "Fancy Pants". I guess by the way she stands w/hands on her hips and all. It is very cute and your son did a great job.

If your son took a few to a LQS, I'm fairly sure that they would buy them...

Cybrarian 07-24-2012 10:33 AM

That is adorable--way to go son!!! Sewsie?

virtualbernie 07-24-2012 01:03 PM

How cool! He should make them to sell!

spokanequilter 07-24-2012 01:13 PM

Too cute! I want one!! And, I agree with nanaquilts44 - Threadna is perfect!

tucsonquilter 07-24-2012 01:14 PM

oh your son has a great sense of humor.

joyce888 07-24-2012 01:22 PM

BellaBoo 07-24-2012 02:27 PM

Mrs. Danvers. If anyone asks you can say read the book!

Thumbelina 07-24-2012 02:30 PM

Great birthday gift, wish my DH had that kind of talent. I think Flo is a fitting name.

ube quilting 07-24-2012 02:33 PM

Love it. And I really think your DS could sell an awful lot of these.

I really like lulu for her name, but then I'm a lulu too!

peace

Phannie1 07-24-2012 02:45 PM

It is so interesting. More than the basic thread holder I have. I like Flo but I was think "Heady, the Thready" or "The Sew n Sewer"

alfosa421 07-24-2012 02:47 PM

Esmerelda so that if you get tangles you can say that instead of swearing!!!

mom-6 07-24-2012 02:56 PM

She is adorable!
My first thought for a name when you called her disgruntled was Disgruntled Gertie.
Tell your son he needs to take orders from those of us here. What price range would he need to ask in order to cover costs and make it worth his while?

twoxover 07-24-2012 03:21 PM

i luff her! your son could maybe make a few bucks making these!
