Looking for the blackboard fabric placemats
A while back a poster posted pictures of the placemats she made for her grandchildren. It was out of, I think she said blackboard fabric, and she was giving them chalk so they could be entertained when they went out to eat. I can't find any reference to it using this new board's search feature. I would really like to track down this blackboard fabric as I have some very "active" grandchildren and would like to make these. If you just know a source for this fabric that would be great too. I googled blackboard fabric and it led me to everything but...
Thanks for any help |

KrisB - thanks to you too for the tutorial. I checked the links for the fabric and now I just need to decide which one. I'm wondering why there is such a variation in price - anyone know?

I just bought some at JoAnn's and they had a free pattern for using it at a buffet where you would use chalk to identify each dish.

I've bought mine from Nancy's Notions exclusively in the past.

My church group made the placemats. Chalkboard fabric on one side and a kiddie print on the other. I inserted a loop of elastic on the inside to put the chalk into. Also included a piece of flannel for an eraser. Two ties on one edge allow you to roll it up and tie it closed. Made 12 and they all sold for $8 each!
