I believe that it was is the Easy Quilts - Scrap Quilts Fall 2011 magazine. Does anyone have a copy that can verify this for me?

Thanks so much for finding that video! It pretty much explains all you need to know to make the log cabin hex block - and even nicer that you don't have to have the hex ruler!

Here is a video I found on how to make the hexagons. I still would like to see the completed quilts that were on the show. The quilt that the lady in the video is standing in front of is very interesting! Any one know the name? |

I have a copy of this issue. On page 18 there are directions for making "log-cabin style hexagon blocks". There is also a quilt, using these blocks, called Feedsack Flowers.

I just picked up a book i have called All Quilt Blocks are Not Square by Debra Wagner and it has the Ozark Tile block in there. way too difficult they way they do it. it can be done like the 10 minute blocks with more inserted squares inbetween the blocks when rows are put together. I'd never do one difficult again when show an easier way.

I believe you need to make triangles to join them in rows.

Don't know if this has already been posted so I will post it.lol
It was the 1800 series and the quilt is jewels in the garden by Gail Kessler. Does that sound right? They show the pic in the magazine and then refer you to their website to download it. Hope this helps if you're still looking. Tammy |

Yes, you need to put a triangle on opposite sides of the hexagon. This link will give you an idea of how it works:

I will look to see if I have the magazine. I record the series every week and I also receive the mags in the mail.
