Keep it busy, kind of like an I-spy for video games, with lots of different game fabrics. OR make it with solids squares like it is pixels.

my teenage son wanted a Pokemon quilt and I found scrap bags for a steal so I made 12" blocks until I ran out of fabric and then put stash flannel on the back. He doesn't give a flying wahoo about the pattern, just the cool fabrics and the soft flannel.
