I've wanted to make a Lone Star for a while and have just never stopped to do it. This thread is giving me a lot of inspiration. My guild said if you want to learn how to do anything in quilting, just go to Youtube and search for it. They are sew right.

I made Eleanor Burns "Radiant Star" if is very easy and fun to do. Her directions are very clear.. Most of the sites listed here look like good places to get patterns and ideas.

Jan Krantz has some nice patterns.

Believe me using the quiltsmart.com fabric is the only way to go. I made one following directions cutting and sewing pieces together in rows and then sewing the rows together. My fabric was gorgeous, my quilt was a nightmare and ended up in the trash. Next time I used quiltsmart and ironed on my pieces, sewed my seams and have the most gorgeous quilt in the world, everyone who comes into my living room comments on it and every seam is perfect! It took me about a week from start to finish! Don't do it any other way! Trust me! I know what I'm talking about and I am not affiliated with quiltsmart in any way.

Maryellen,
I checked out quilt smart and am intrigued. Are there directions for adding the background and borders? TIA! Beth |
