I like the one that is in the book "Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!! by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes. You can pick up one of the older editions for basically the price of shipping from Amazon or see if your local library has a copy. I highly recommend this book and it is well worth it to get a used one. I have the oldest edition so can't say what is different about the newer ones. The pattern for the lone star (called Star of Bethlehem in the book) is for several sizes from wall to king.

Here is a link to a picture of mine I posted a long time ago. I hope to make another some day.

Had to laugh at myself! I thought you meant the Texas Flag before I read your post.

Eleanor Burns book "2nd Edition Radiant Star Quilts ". https://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponli...ay.asp?i=30068

The book offers many Lone Star patterns in different sizes & variations.

I have completed one Lone Star from her book & am working on the second one. Directions are easy to understand. Lots of pictures & color graphics. Detailed step by step instructions.

I just finished a Lone Star quilt (I call it a Lakota Star, I'm from South Dakota) and I'm working on the binding. I used the Moda Bake Shoppe tutorial and these two videos to make my own pattern with the strip set I picked out. HTH!

I picked up a book at my local library early in my quilting life for a lone star. Had no clue it was supposed to be difficult, lol. It was strip pieced and very easy to do. Sorry, don't remember the book title but perhaps that could also be a resource for you.
