Looking for a Machine Quilting Unlimited article
Good Day,
I am new to the group and am I’m trying to locate a copy of a late 2017, or early 2018 issue of Quilting Unlimited Magazine. This issue contains an article by Margaret Solomon Gunn about a particular binding technique I want to try. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. And oh, I am enjoying the posts on do many interesting topics. |
I'm assuming you've done the google thing for the back issues? Have you tried Margaret's blog to see if maybe she posted a tutorial for it?

If you ask here about the binding technique, someone might be able to help.

Right after Machine Quilting Unlimited announced they were shutting their doors, I went to their website and downloaded a lot of Free stuff. One of my downloads is from Margaret Solomon Gunn - Scalloped Bindings. Could this be what you are looking for?

If it is scallops and bindings, there is an excellent tutorial at https://ankastreasures.wordpress.com...ding-scallops/ I bookmarked quite a while back, but haven't ''jumped in'' yet. Looks very easy.

Thanks. I actually emailed her about it, she told me it was in the magazine, so I was hoping to find it to get all the details. She indicated she was going to blog about it after a particular show, but I wasn’t sure how much detail she might include.

It is a technique whereby she attaches scallops and prairie points to the edge of the quilt, with what looks like a binding but only on the front, and facing on the back. On the back, you can see that one seam is hand stitched, but on the front it looks like everything is machine done. I just found it very unique.
