That's a pretty quilt! It is made of only one block. It is two strips of fabric sewn side by side, then 2 triangles are sewn onto diagonal corners like making a snowball. Color placement makes the pattern

Martingale Publishing has a book by Martha Thompson called Square Dance. All the patterns are made from plain squares in unique layouts. This is a revised book from the origional published in1995 by That Patchwork Place. Hope this helps.

Not the First large pic but the 2 under is what I am looking for.

The inner blocks are like one I did out of a book called Loose Change....the difference is the outer part of the squares~

I think the quilt is made up of split 9 patches like the picture below. EQ keeps blowing up on me so I can't make the quilt.

But it you put 4 of these blocks, dark sides towards the center, you can see how it would form the central motif. And flip them and you get the frame.

the quilt she was looking far has a 16 patch in the center then half sq and whole sqs then framed with sqs

for some reason i've seen that one called a nine patch but it's not.

The entire quilt is constructed using only ONE block layout.

If you read the entire thread, you'll see that BKrenning, ghostrider and I all provided detailed drawings of both the blocks and how they are placed to create the pattern in the larger quilt layout.

However, if you want to create the quilt using 16 patch blocks and HST's blocks, you can certainly go that way.

Its Bonnie Hunter's pattern...
