It uses very large blocks comprised of 16 split 9 patch blocks. The first 4 in the center with the darks turned to the center and the remaining 12 blocks are all arranged around the center and turned to form a ring.

Your layout creates a second design which is really interesting. I think I like your creation better than the square dance pattern.

Bonnie - Check out the 12in Square Dance pattern with accompanying quilt
at Quilter's Cache [http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html].
When the page comes up just go to "Alphabetized Blocks" and pick out
Square Dance. All her patterns are free.
She uses a plain center square but you can substitute a 4 patch or a theme print
or anything else you like.

Stitchit123 05-02-2011 11:18 AM

Because you actually read the thread! ;-)

And you rock the most because you give out such great and pertinent information after always reading all the threads. (I think we had this conversation before???)

Do you know who the pattern designers are? Was it
"Mountain Patchwork" If the Square Dance pattern you want
is from Mountain Patchwork I have that pattern in my quilt shop. The pattern I have has some Embroidery on it as well if that helps to identify it.
