I saw this on the net somewhere, does anyone have this pattern :)
|
I haven't. It's gorgeous. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you.
|
It looks like an Elanor Burns star log cabin.
http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...asp?i=639&pg=4 I would think there would be a free pattern on the web somewhere like it so you don't have to buy the book. Although, I own several of her books and love them! |
There is a free pattern on the web for this. It is on one of the Magazine web sites and it done in red, white and blue. The log cabins are red and white and the stars are blue. I have it printed out - not bookmarked. If no one posts a link before 5, when I go home I will see if I can find it for ya.
|
Thanks Missi, that would be great.
|
I WANT that quilt. Very beautiful. Make sure you post pics if you make it susie4. :)
|
That is a beautiful quilt!!! Sure hope someone can find the free pattern
|
Oh my goodness that is gorgeous!!! I want one too!
Renee |
That is a beautiful quilt.
|
I love that quilt, but will be a while before I would tackle something like that. LOL
|
hehehehehe, same here sondray! A girl can dream though can't she?
Renee |
Did we find the pattern yet????
|
I would say it is definitely Eleanor Burns pattern. Looks to me like they used puffy batting and quilted in the ditch to make the pattern stand out. It is gorgeous and a wonderful choice of colors. Star Log Cabin es the name.
|
Beautiful!!
I love the colors! |

Love it....wish we could find the directions on the lay out. |
I've searched and searched and can't seem to find it.
I'm thinking just maybe try to count the squares and figure it out that way. I'm still looking. Sure hope Missi comes back with that pattern. Hubby saw it and said it would look great on the bed. Hmmmmm....first time he ever said that! |
bump

I, too, would like that pattern. I love red & white things. Hope you can find it fopr us. :P
|
I've searched and searched all the magazines I can think of and cannot find it. If someone has the pattern, would be nice to pass it along

i think you're looking for this: quilt in day by elonore burns log cabin with stars i typed in 'log cabin with stars quilt pattern'. i chose barnes and noble book search. that showed me the book that has the pattern i think you want. they give a good close-up so you can check it out. you can get it online for $14.95. i would see about getting it in their stores. call first. they often run sales and they're in financial trouble now. SORRY!!!!!!! Please forgive STAR LOG CABIN QUILT by elonore burns as part of her quilt in a day series.[b] rearranged |
I saw the cover of that Quilt In A Day book and its not the same.

The photo is from Amish Country Quilts. The pattern is called Colorado Star, or sometimes Colorado Star Log Cabin. That one sold for $780, but they have several other color combos. http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/Pag...SearchWhat=All Their photos are extremely detailed.
I found the pattern only as a class offered in Oklahoma http://www.cherylsquiltcorner.com/classes.htm and in a book (Dynamic Duo #3, by Trudy Hughes) that would require some minor modifications (leaving off flying geese) http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/sto...3&Item_ID=4559 or directly from the author (for less $$) at http://www.trudiehughes.com/books.htm. It is rated as a pattern for "knowledgeable Beginners or Intermediates". Hope this helps. |
to nor'easter
i don't know how in the world you found that. |
teehee...it's what I do... Thanks.
|
I would just add a triangle to the longest strip on each end. Very pretty.
|
It looks to me like the outside row of logs has diamond at both ends that is mitered to the log on the next side. You could probably do it with HSTs and a square to make it easier.
Found it as a table runner. http://www.embroideryetcetera.com/mh...-log-cabin.htm Looks like it may be a Judy Martin design that first appeared in Scrap Quilts (1985) under the name Colorado Log Cabin. |
would love to make the Stairway to Cat Heaven for my daughter who has four 'babies" that have the run of her house. Is the pattern still on here somewhere? thanks, c

Isn't it just a log cabin that has sashing? It looks like the sashing and corner stones make the darker blue stars to me.

No, it's definitely part of the log cabin block, mawquilter. There is no sashing. I thought that at first, too, until I looked at the close up photos. (I think it's clearer in the neutral colored quilt. Same pattern, just a different color.)
|
Thanks for finding it Nor'easter. My next looksie was going to go to the Amish Quilts, but I always get "lost" when looking at them. They are so gorgeous, I just sit and stare at them for hours. Would have taken me days to find it.
Not sure who it is that is wanting Stairway to Heaven, but you can buy it from Mccall's Quilting. It used to be a free pattern, but no longer is. |
I went home on Friday night and completely forgot about this. Sorry!!!! I see one was found, and I will try and remember when I go home for lunch.
|
You saw this on the Amish Quilt Shop web site. They use the same bedroom setup for all their quilts. I think this pattern is on Quilter's Village web site because I printed it. Can't remember the pattern name but it is red, white & blue as the other lady said. I am fixing to look it up so I'll post & let everyone know,
|
I have Eleanor Burns Star Log Cabin book, and this is just one of the layouts she has in the book. :)
|
Just looked up Quilter's Village site. The quilt I thought it was is under Patriotic quilts but it's not the right one. This one has too many stars. If I find in any of my books I'll post.
|
I made that pattern last year- had seen a photo in an old book but no directions. So I made my own pattern. This blue/white color combination is pretty. I did mine in purples and jade green.
Cheryl |
That's really pretty. I've seen that before but can't remember where. It looks like a log cabin with stars in each corner.
|
lunch what lunch at my office today. But I was layig in bed and I remembered so I got up went to the quilting room and found the pattern.
Here is the link http://quickquilts.com/patriotic/pattern_103/ The layout is different in this one than the first one posted but it is very similar. Another difference between this pattern and pretty cream picture is the star between the blocks. Hope this helps and sorry I am soooo forgetful |
Thanks Missi, this pattern will work nicely, even though the stars are different than the cream pic, I think for a beginner like me these ones will be easier.
