I've seen various dark colors on DWR backgrounds and love them. Very pretty.

I just searched for Double Wedding Ring quilts, and put the word dark with it. I saw some wonderful ones and I noted that you might try a deep cream or a light beige. That could be striking. Be sure to make a test block to see if you like it.

thanks.. I just picked up my background fabric yesterday. No I have to think about the rings... I might have some cream fabric that does sound pretty
and I agree. test block first learned that the hard way :) |
The two DWR quilts I have that my my Grandmother made in the 1930's have the unbleached muslin. So I'd have to say I am partial to the off white, creams, ivory...
Whatever you make will be wonderful, the DWR is just classic!! |
I'm sending the link of a navy blue background DWR. She lists her fabric in the article.
http://myfabricobsession.blogspot.co...-finished.html I always consider fading when I use darks, especially blue. Just a thought. |

I used black for background and used my own design for this quilt (king-size).
