It really upset me when I cannot find an item I need. When I load a quilt on my longarm, I use a magnetic wrist pincushion. I CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHERE :-(
I also cannot find the TV remote. Maybe they are together!

Rachel 08-19-2011 01:38 PM

Buy a new one and the original is bound to turn up within 24 hours. tee hee

BellaBoo 08-19-2011 01:43 PM

I still haven't found my ruler and book that I know I put in my sewing room. Good luck on the remote!

amma 08-19-2011 01:45 PM

Remote controls are always evil - we have 2 in our bedroom for our cable/tv box - can't tell you how many times one is lost in the bed - under a greyhound laying on the bed, etc

Check your purse!

Lori S 08-19-2011 02:01 PM

It soo frustrating when that happens. My 6inch by 1 inch ruler has been known to take "long walks" by itself. ... so I now have a few ... but who knew they liked walking together!

Yes...quilting tools tend to "flock".

dunster 08-19-2011 02:37 PM

I have found my keys in the freezer, in the garbage, and once even in my purse. LOL

Airwick156 08-19-2011 03:34 PM

Look in the fridge...you may have set it on the shelf as you were pulling out the cheesecake. LOL

susie-susie-susie 08-19-2011 03:42 PM

Well, Dunster, whatever was it doing in your purse? That would be the last place I would look. As for the remote, look in the sofa cushions.
Sue

amandasgramma 08-19-2011 03:50 PM

I blame my husband.

The worst was losing my wedding rings. We were cleaning out an apartment, preparing to move, and I had just had a baby. My hands had swollen from pregnancy, so I was wearing my rings on my little finger. They slipped off somehow. I looked all over the apartment, almost gave up, but finally found them in the trash, in the big trash cans in the community carport, which was separate from the apartments. I still remember that panicked feeling, and it was over 40 years ago.

klarina 08-19-2011 03:56 PM

Stop looking for them. They will appear when you are not looking for them. I think if they know you are looking, they tend to hide deeper into the most unusual spaces of your home. lol.

Barbshobbies 08-19-2011 04:07 PM

If it was magnetic look on metal objects in the room.

nawnee_00 08-19-2011 04:18 PM

When you do find it have a mini quilt pocket made and ready to put it in with a string attached, and maybe a cowbell to go with it. That's what I intend to do when I find mine that disappeared almost a year ago! Maybe they eloped together somewhere. :)

This happened to us. I asked my husband of 1 year to wash my car. He did and lost his wedding ring. We looked all over for a week. Did not find it. So we bought another one and within that week we found his old one as I was pulling weeds. Now he has a spare.

Nanamoms 08-19-2011 04:31 PM

I was putting my rulers on my new ruler holder I got last wedekend. the holder looks like a belt holder and has a hook to hang over a rod. Well, I had to fight the opening to get the rulers on BUT the dumb hook fell off somewhere and now I can't find it. Grrrrrrr!!

Grandma Mary 08-19-2011 05:38 PM

If it were me, I would probably find it on my arm where it's supposed to be! Have you ever looked for your glasses and found they were already on your face? That's me!!!! ;-)

patski 08-19-2011 05:43 PM

They ran off together and are going to procreate!!

gigi10 08-19-2011 05:50 PM

I lost a remote once. a long time after it just fell out of the back of the recliner. The chair was done with it.

MissM 08-19-2011 06:11 PM

Happens all the time in our house. With DH it is glasses, keys & wallet. :(

dixiebelle162002 08-19-2011 06:15 PM

I think someone should make a remote or tv that has a find feature. So that the remote would ring or beep loudly till you were able to find it. (like many cordless telephones have)

We took the recliner apart....no remote. No other cushions to look in.

Honeynga 08-20-2011 03:02 AM

I too had lost the remote....found it ON TOP OF THE REFRIGERATOR....why was it in there ? I don't know !

It'sJustMe 08-20-2011 03:13 AM

It wasn't me Mom!

celwood 08-20-2011 03:39 AM

Whenever I lose the remote I can usually find it in my husband's hand. When he is in his recliner he even falls asleep holding the remote.

Glenda m 08-20-2011 04:14 AM

DH found out you can't answer the remote or change channels with the phone. He tries to put each back where they belong now. Tired of my laughing.

PattyS 08-20-2011 04:25 AM

Just say this little prayer...St. Anthony, St. Anthony please come around. Something is lost and can't be found! Then say what you are looking for. I keep him pretty busy so hope he has time for you! Ha!

Lavada 08-20-2011 04:59 AM

use the house phone to find my cell all the time same with quilting stuff call my friend to ask her where i put it even tho she was not with me usually works too

Geri B 08-20-2011 05:07 AM

....how about having to call one's cell phone from the house phone simply to "find" it!!!!!!

I know if we ever move from this house I will find so many things that I have lost...........behind, under, in between, etc.

misscarol 08-20-2011 05:19 AM

I haven't looked on top of the fridge and I think St. Anthony get tired of helping me find things :)
Many times I have taken the remote out of DH's hand after he has fallen asleep in the recliner.
I have not had to call my cell from the house phone to find it....yet!!
My youngest son did however wash his cell phone with his baseball uniform. Needless to say, he had to get a new phone.
