Saint Anthony - Please find this quilt and get it to the proper owner. For this we pray. Amen

Isn't it against the law to accept mail delivered in someone else's name? Seems I've been told it's an offence even if at your address. ? Pray you get it back also.

Your picture on page 3 and uTube video on page 4 does my heart wonders! This is why we quilters quilt. So glad the package arrived where it needed to be.

Don't worry.. sometimes things get delivered wrong, and then whoever actually got it may be like my daughter with 2 babies and no time to figure it out at the moment.. It will get where it's supposed to go.

I once sent a gift to the wrong address.. The gal who got it went to great lengths to find the person I sent it to.. It took 3 months and some real work on her part but the gift did eventually get delivered.. Keep trusting, lots and lots of people are still honest and will do the right thing!

I'm pleased to announce that St. Anthony did his job!! Sew Krazy, go to page 4 of this thread, down to the fourth post (me) and see that the quilt is safely where it belongs. I think you'll smile if you click the link to see the video of it's arrival.
Thanks for caring!...and that goes for ALL of you!!

I hope you do get it returned. I sent my daughter a small priority package July 21, but put her new address as 175 instead of 176, but had paid for delivery confirmation. 2 days after I sent it, tracking listed it as undeliverable and returning to sender. Subsequent online info showed it being sent to various centers in 2 or 3 different states. It finally was returned to me but it took one month! Good luck. And I too will offer a prayer that you get it. I would have the post office do a follow up since it was delivered.

quilterscorner 08-27-2010 05:46 PM

lets hope that the person who got it has just been busy and will inform Sara that they received her package by mistake. I just can't imagine that they don't know who their neighbors are but then I live in a town of 1500 people and we know everybody

I am very happy your quilt was delivered to your Granddaughter. The video clip was touching.

twinkie 08-28-2010 02:30 AM

I am so sorry that happened. My DH (an airplane nut) mailed drafts, drawings and all sorts of technical (old and irreplaceable)airplane information to a friend in N. Florida and it never arrived. Hope you have much better luck locating the quilt. It hurts to lose something when you have put that much time in on it. I just didn't read far enough.
The video says it all. I am so glad and GOD Bless

Seeing a little red as folks are faulting the Postal Service when you said it was delivered by United Parcel Service.
Yes, I'm not only a quilter but also a retired USPS worker having delivered hundreds of parcels.
Sorry, just had to vent. :)

Nette,
Boy, sometimes this forum can get like playing the old gossip game when we were kids! We used to get in a long line and start a simple story and whisper it to the kid next to you...then he to the next, and by the time it got to the last kid, it was no where near the original lines.
So, To all that are still reading this thread:

1. I MIS-ADDRESSED THE PACKAGE, SO I ALONE AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LATE ARRIVAL TO SARA.

2. I USED USPS AND DO NOT FAULT THEM FOR WHERE IT WAS DELIVERED (THO I DON'T KNOW WHERE THAT WAS)

3. I AM GRATEFUL, NOT ANNOYED, AT THE PERSON WHO GOT IT DELIVERED TO THEM AND SAW THAT IT GOT TO MY DGG SARA.

Moral of this story, verify addresses, pay the extra for tracking and signature.
END OF STORY
and thanks for being concerned! as you saw by the video, All's well that ends well!

So glad your granddaughter received her quilt, great youtube video.

Aaawww... Thanks for posting this wonderful video!
Makes all the stressing and worry worthwhile, doesn't it?
I'm so happy that your lovely quilt found it's home.

I've learned the hard way, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS getting a tracking number.

Thank God people were praying for you and He was looking out for your beloved. Just look for the lesson in everything. It's there.

We've had stuff like that happen before! Sometimes the mailman will "make it disappear". Your daughter could just knock on the door of the address it was supposedly delivered to and ask about it.

Made that same same wavy quilt last year. What did you use to make it sparkly? Is it the quilting thread?

zz-pd 08-31-2010 09:49 PM

I will say a prayer for you, and I hope they will do the right thing. God bless.
