You are a lucky lady. Can you download a manual online?
|
You can always pretend you are going to buy the machine, after all, if it is not you threading the machine that is the problem you will need to take it somewhere for it to be serviced. But I am sure if you go in explain your problem ask for assistance they would help you. After all, now you are going to be a Bernina customer.

I found a manual here, not sure if it's the same machine as there's no red flower.

Lucky you! Must be a machine made in Bernina's 75th year of production: I have a 630 with the little doodad on it.

No dealer will help you if you didn't buy it from them.....I don't know how old it is but it has a red flower emblem on the body of the machine with number 75[/QUOTE]
I have not found this to be the case. I have sought advice from dealers in various places that I've lived who sold the brand of machine I had. I've moved around a lot and kept the same machine so have had to rely on dealers who I did not buy the machine from. One place even took me back in the workshop where they had a machine apart and showed me how to fix my machine myself. I've never tried to take free classes where I didn't buy a machine but have found they are more than willing to help you with advice or for you to bring your machine in for maintenance and repair. I've even had warranty work done on a machine for no charge at a dealer where I didn't buy the machine. Give it a try. |
Congratulations on your new to you Bernina. If there is a Bernina dealer near you, check with them about private lessons. Also, there are Bernina groups on Yahoo for different Bernina machines. Great place for info. Love my Bernina machines.

The red flower with 75 means it came out on Bernina 75th anniversary year.

I'm not sure it's this way nationwide, but Jo Ann's is a Bernina dealer here in Dallas. The ladies who work in the Bernina department are really helpful.
