Hey Quilters.....................I have been gifted a Bernina Artista 730.................I must be real dumb because no matter how many times I look in the manual I can't even thread it right....it does not seem to have a 1/4 inch foot or a walking foot but does have a stitch regular.....I need directions please............

I don't know about threading. My 2 Berninas have been pretty straight forward about how to thread them. The needle threads front to back. The 1/4 inch foot is #37 on mine. There is also a 1/4" foot with the guide. I can't remember the number. I don't use that one.

Wow, congratulations! Bernina has a lot of great videos for their machines on the net and YouTube.

I saw a whole set of the old type feet on ebay for a bernina. It was a bargain at the price.

The thread path is across the back from the spool, forward over/through the metal guide, then forward through the tension disks, back up and over the arm (have the arm up so you can see it), down the left side, there is a little metal eyelet at the bottom of the needle holder shaft that is open on the side, catch it in that, then on the left side of the needle shank there is one more little hook/guide to catch it into and then into your needle from the front to back. Done!

Wow, you are lucky! If you have a Bernina dealer near you, maybe you could go in and ask for a demonstration, starting with the threading.... :-)

If it's a new 730, a lot of Bernina dealers offer guide classes that you can pay to take. Their guide classes are well worth it.

No dealer will help you if you didn't buy it from them.....I don't know how old it is but it has a red flower emblem on the body of the machine with number 75
