That's a fabulous machine! It takes the new style feet. #37 is the 1/4" foot, #50 is the walking foot, #20 is the open toe for applique and #26 is for embroidery. The embroidery format is ART. The first place you put the thread is in the thread guide on the back of the machine - I wonder if that's the part you're missing. Or is it the needle threader that you're having trouble with? It has to be pulled all the way down BEFORE you put the thread in the slot. You can pull it closer to the needle with your finger, to make sure it's all the way down. The bobbin goes into the bobbin case so that when you pull the thread, it spins clockwise. The bobbin thread has to be pulled through the flat spring on the bobbin case. If you bought the machine somewhere else, we (the shop where I work) would still help you learn to use it. But some shops will charge a class fee.

There are videos for the 730. Just be sure before you thread, the pressure foot is ip so the thread can get into the tension discs. Put the pressure foot down to thread the needle. It is a great machine and embroideries beautiful.
