I love the embroidery you all have done! Really makes me want an embroidery machine.

I love to use my embroidery machine in quilts! Here are a few I have made.

I think it just adds something to the quilt. While we have the embroidery machines we better make use of them.

I really like your scriptures quilt ... the alternate squares, etc. I have those patterns and I believe you have inspired me to proceed. lol

I agree, I have the Brother 270d. and my son-in-law is a computer geek so he found me any desighn you can imagine. I load it to my ped box and start working. I purchased my machine on e-bay and only paid 350.00 that included shipping.

The quilts that I posted were embroidered on a Brother PE-150 that I purchased several years ago at Wal-Mart. All this machine does is embroidery. All of mine were hand quilted ... something else I'm learning! lol

I have used my regular sewing machine to quilt some table runners and table toppers ... made the stitch length as long as possible and straight stitched near the seams. Worked really well when I used old mattress pads for the batting and spray adhesive to temporarily hold in place ... very few pins required.

One thing that I've learned on my machine embroidery journey is the difference between polyester and rayon thread.

Polyester can be bleached and that makes it great for dinner napkins. I have read several places that rayon thread is not as durable and does not need to be bleached. I find little difference in the sheen.

I have used regular sewing thread as well before I invested in a wide variety of thread colors. It tended to create more lint and the bobbin area required more frequent cleaning ... used the compressed air and it worked great.

This was a quilt I made for my cousins 21st birthday. This was my first quilt ever! She loved it!
