A few years ago, I saw Nancy show us a machine that did only mock hand stitching. It did nothing else. If you contact her company, maybe they can tell you more about if you are interested.

The machine you are referring to is the Sashiko machine.

Eleanor Burns once demo'd the sashiko stitch on her show machine. It involved changing the tension on the machine. Wish I could remember how high she set it.
