My DH isn't allowed in my sewing room!
Sounds like an uncover 'stash police' agent to me.
Mine is so small , all you have to do is open the door and vacuum what you can reach. He did vacuum the whole house for me on Sunday. What a guy.
I do it myself, once a week. Not because I don't want anyone to see it - it does not have a door and is seeable by anyone passing. It is so small that there is not much opportunity for my stash to grow! I have to use and then replace.

I had to argue with him NOT to do it.....only because I didn't want him to see how much my stash had grown!!!!! Does your DH help you clean your room???????? I clean my sewing space every time I vac the rest of house. A girl firend and I share the house but she doesn't sew, my DH has past on but there's no stash to hide, no shelves to organize or closets over flowing. My stash fills one grocery plastic bag, neatly folded by color a waiting the day the join with others. I pick up when I sew, cut my thread over the trash and neaten the table my sewing machine |
Mine does all the vacumning, my sewing room too. I'm wanting to replace the carpet with laminate, maybe soon. But he will move furniture for me, but not dust or anything like that. My computer is in my sewing room too, so he's there on it, doesn't pay any attention to all the fabric. Most of it is out of sight. LOL

My DH is afraid of my sewing room!
I went into my sewing room this morning and discovered that it had been vacuumed sometime during the week-end.
I have just spent all weekend in my sewing area as I had to make 6 I Spy blocks, finish my quilt that has been on the go for a few weeks and then also just to have a break from those start a new project so there was scraps and bits of thread all over the place.
My DH came in to see what I was up to and while there he played with his darts for awhile then asked if I was finished so he could clean up and vacuum for me. He does all the vacuuming in our house. :D He knows roughly how much stash I have but never says anything, in our house it is our daughter who is vocal about my stash while he will tell her to leave it alone, it makes your mother happy :P |
My DH will vacuum the carpet when ever I ask. I clean my Sewing Studio at least weekly. DH knows how much fabric I have bc it's all in one room, yes a whole room full. He is always on the look out for feed sacks for me.
Mine doesn't come into my sewing room anymore. He gave my FW to Goodwill yrs ago because he didn't think I was using it anymore. He knows how much stash I have, but doesn't say anything about it. He does do the laundry. Oh, by the way, it real;y cost him after the FW espisode.
Mine does, and we laughed today because there is spray adhesive on the floor, so he was stuck behind the sewing table.
No I am too fussy for that.
I don't like my husband in my sewing room because he always has a smart remark about how messy it is. I am working on it but it definitely is a WIP. When I go on my trip, he threatens to clean it for me. That better not happen, he knows better.
I have a sewing room, he has an office/library. On cleaning day I clean mine and he cleans his.
Mine will help move stuff around and make me stuff when I need. I don't worry about my stash being seen. All I have to do is show him some of the gorgeously filled sewing rooms people have posted and he quiets right. LOL
my darling vacuums for me, but then after the area around my sewing machine, he has to stop and pull out all the threads on the roller, then he nags at me not to put the threads on the floor.....that is an old habit i have, that i need to break.....
I have to have it pretty clean and clutter free to work. Can't work in a cluttered environment- too distracting.

I try to keep my sewing room picked up but it is hard. Right now I am going through books and patterns. Have some I will never use so will put them up for sale. Finally put all my UFO's in one place and some are going to become charity quilts. Now ready to sew.

I keep my sewing room clean and always clean after a project
My DH helps me by vacuuming the carpets with the upright which is too heavy for me and he helps move furniture. He helps with mopping floors and anything else I ask him to do. He used to own a commercial cleaning service and so he does a great job with everything. Whenever I unload the dishwasher, he says "Hey, that's my job." lol I load it he unloads it. He helps with my sewing room except for putting stuff away. I would never find it. I can't find anything when I put it away. :)

Good girl. What stash he doesn't see you won't have to explain.
