Major Haul of men's XXL shirts

I just got 30 if not 40 men's 100% cotton shirts in size XXL at a garage sale! I think I could make several quilts with these!

Don't know about you but I wash them before cutting them up. Don't have to worry about fraying. I also use Arm and Hammer with vinegar or ammonia and have it on soak cycle for as long as I can, It helps to rid of any deodorants or perfumes that the wearer may have used and also any odors from cedar closets. I also don't use any softeners, liquid or dryer sheets. FYI. You of course may already have your own way of doing things already. Then I just cut as I need. Unless I need to take my frustration for what ever reason out of my system. I also put them in a clear container labeled "whole pieces".

By the way it was a truly great haul you made.

Hooray! Time to watch Bonnie Hunter's Youtube video on de-boning a shirt!

I'm sure you can make a lot of quilts from your haul! Have fun!

I wish I lived closer to you and I'd suggest a trade. I have two huge bags of already washed and sorted shirting scraps and I have two sons and a husband who could wear those shirts!

I saw an adorable shirt quilt with the front of the shirts where they buttoned up were cut out and sewn as a block, I might just try that.

What a great find. Love all those shades of blue.
