Great ideas. I also use a different magnetic parts holder to hold each type of pin I use regularly and bed risers to lift a table to a height comfortable for cutting with no back strain.

I use the magnetic ash tray for my pins but keep it away from my electronic sewing machine. Magnets can erase the electronic drive in the machine.

Walmart sells great plastic boxes that are meant to hold Hot Wheels cars. They are about $5 in the toy department. They work great to hold thread! They sell a similar box in the fabric department that is smaller for thread that is about $20!

a lot of scrapbook tools and supplies can be interchanged with quilting supplies too.

I clamp my quilts onto my glass topped ding table with Hubby's Clamps he bought for gluing wood. I did let him keep the little bitty ones.
Hubby bought me a set of plastic saw horses to extend the table length, I lay a card table on top of them, I pull the quilt up onto the glass top to pin. |
